BiH Minister of Human Rights and Refugees visited CEB

On 30 November 2015, Ms Semiha Borovac, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina visited CEB. In addition to attending the RHP Steering Committee meeting held the day after, the discussions focussed on the ongoing implementation of the RHP as well as the status of the CEB-financed project “Closing of collective centres”.

With CEB’s Vice-Governor Mr Monticelli, the Minister visited the RHP photo exhibition portraying the latest accomplishments of the project. The Minister also met with the CEB Vice-Governor Ruiz Ligero and on this occasion, she handed over the signed Grant Agreement for the third RHP sub-project in BiH. In conclusion, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation and promised that her ministry will take all necessary steps to speed up the implementation of the projects.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the RHP is expected to provide altogether 5 400 durable and sustainable housing solutions. As of today, the RHP Assembly of Donors has approved four sub-projects in favour of BiH, amounting to EUR 41 million in total and covering almost 2 000 housing solutions. The objective of the “Closing of collective centres” project is the closure of 122 collective centres, by providing housing solutions to 2 700 families. The estimated total cost of the project is EUR 104 million, of which 58% is covered by a loan from the CEB.
